COVID-19: Numerous Measures We're Taking to Keep You Safe

Our mission is to provide exceptional service to our customers during their time of need.

At this moment, amidst a global pandemic, we stand firmly by our mission statement and continue to serve our internal and external customers. Our employees, customers, and business partners are our top priority.

To that end, we have defined and implemented numerous measures to safeguard the health of all those we come into contact with. We have enacted proactive restrictions on travel and visits, maintained social distancing and proper hygiene, and conducted regular disinfecting of all our equipment and locations. Continuing business activities for our customers is close to our hearts.

At Hays + Sons, our resolve is even greater than ever to be ready to serve our customers in their time of need. To that end, our services are still available 24/7.

We are also offering commercial clients the same disinfecting services that we are using for our own workspaces. This video shows you the steps we’re taking to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Disinfecting Services

Restoration done right is not simply about stuff, it is also about people. Protecting people’s health and contributing to their wellbeing, through disinfecting, has been part of our business as restoration experts for 38 years.

Our disinfecting services are available and recommended for all offices before and after employees return to work. By disinfecting all workstations, furniture, and employee equipment, utmost health and safety is ensured.

  • Fogging/Spraying to disinfect the air and penetrate areas otherwise difficult to reach. To ensure successful disinfecting, our ULV foggers apply at a droplet size of up to 120 microns, well above OHSA requirements, allowing the product to dwell wet for at least 10 minutes and kill any bacteria and viruses.
  • Hard surface cleaning of high touch areas, including door knobs, light switches, countertops, and desks
  • We use Concrobium regularly, which is an EPA-registered disinfectant tested to kill over 99.99% of viruses. It is nontoxic and is well-suited for use in commercial and institutional buildings, including offices, healthcare facilities, schools, restaurants, public restrooms, hotels and motels, and any other public building.
  • Personal protective equipment includes bodysuit, gloves, and respirator masks

Disinfecting is Recommended over just Cleaning and Sanitizing

  • Cleaning removes germs and dirt or other impurities from surfaces but doesn’t necessarily kill them. It lowers the risk of spreading infection.
  • Sanitizing lowers the number of germs on surfaces to a safe level, to further lower the risk of spreading infection.
  • Disinfecting kills germs on surfaces. Using an EPA-registered product like Concrobium to disinfect and clean hard surfaces is the most effective way to kill germs and achieve the lowest possible risk of spreading infection.

Why You Need a Restoration Company to Disinfect Your Office

With the COVID-19 pandemic, we’re offering disinfecting services that augment the typical cleaning services provided by janitorial cleaning companies. The process of applying a chemical disinfectant for virus removal should only be handled by professionals who are trained in decontamination procedures.

At Hays + Sons, we are:

  • Well-versed in virus decontamination through our mold remediation services.
  • Properly trained on using proper PPE and following disinfecting protocols.
  • Experienced. We’ve been disinfecting for 38 years.
  • Following OSHA’s standards for bloodborne pathogens, respiratory protection, and hazard communications.
  • Certified by the IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration) which is the standard for the decontamination, and thus disinfecting, industry.

CDC Guidelines

Hays + Sons is following the guidelines outlined by the Center of Disease Control (CDC) in an effort to minimize exposure and reduce possible transmission of the virus among our employees and our community.

For us, that means wearing disposable gloves and gowns for all tasks in the disinfecting process, including handling trash. We also encourage our employees to wash their hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds, including immediately after removing gloves. Additionally, we always disinfect with an EPA-registered disinfectant and follow the instructions on the label to ensure safe and effective use of the product. We’re using BenefectShockWave and Concrobium.

For you, following the CDC guidelines includes educating workers to recognize the symptoms of COVD-19 and providing instructions on what to do if employees develop symptoms within 14 days after their last possible exposure to the virus. If an employee gets sick, it is important to close off areas used by the sick person. Also, open outside doors and windows to increase air circulation in the area and wait 24 hours before you clean or disinfect.
